About Me

Hello and welcome to my site,

I just wanted to say a few words about what I do as a personal trainer and nutrition coach and how I incorporate clean eating into my regime and help my clients to make better lifestyle choices.

I have always had a keen interest in food and cooking, so much so that I enrolled on a professional chefs course for a year, I'd always cooked and when I hit my thirties I did start to put on weight!  I was one of those annoying people that could eat what I wanted, I was lucky.  But as soon as I had my children I started to notice that I couldn't get into my previous size 10 jeans and as I'm a 'feeder' that just absolutely loves to cook this was becoming a problem.  Apart from the obvious health risks I was looking pretty shabby, felt old and unattractive and kept thinking 'is this it'?  So I decided to get fit, I joined a gym, which kind of helped but there was no real information about food and most of the trainers just wanted to beast you!  All I had was the guidelines set out by the NHS and some other dubious 'diets' and of course the ever expanding and totally conflicting internet.

Fast forward to a few years later and I decided to go on and study for my personal training, again, although really thorough when it came to exercise and technique (Thank you Premier Global) and they did cover nutrition and I did receive the standard nutritional advisor certificate as do all PT's,  it still wasn't enough.  My tutor had always said it was 20% training and 80% diet but as this was a personal training course I needed more nutrition knowledge.   So I enrolled on to Precision Nutrition  course and my eyes were opened! Because I love food and I love to cook this was just what I needed.

I don't believe in 'diets' especially fad diets.  If you can learn to make swaps and better choices over time you can actually make a real difference with your health.  You don't have to be a chef and if you really hate to cook there are options.  I learnt that training and nutrition go hand in hand and if you're doing one without the other then you won't get the results you want.  That is why if you look at my untouched real photo's of real women you'll see that they have really changed, ok so they're not like the instagram photos of women with abs etc they are real people with busy lives, kids, homes, jobs, who have to fit this in with their lifestyle, just normal people, not movie stars or models.  On average the results are around a stone in 8 weeks but that's a real small part because if you take weight as a whole you really are not seeing the whole picture, I work with you to build muscle which in turn burns fat, muscle is smaller and denser than fat so if you were just on a 'diet' you'd probably lose more, however you wouldn't be toned. Being toned you'll lose inches too.  In other words you'll get smaller and tighter!

When I was at my biggest I was a UK size 16 up top and UK size 14 on my legs and I weighed 11 stone! I"m 5ft 8" and I was just getting bigger.  Fast forward to now, I"m around an 8 to 10 and guess what I weigh 11 stone! My body fat is 22%! So how come I weigh the same but I'm 3 to 4 dress sizes smaller? Muscle, pure and simple! I change my diet regularly from high protein, medium protein, high carb, low carb, I constantly shock my body so it doesn't get used to how I eat so I don't plateau. Ok, so I probably am extreme but you don't have to be.  I can show you how I use food to really enhance my training and how I keep the fat off.

I'd also like to say that this is a lifestyle change, implementing small changes over time works, swaps, planning and prep all go a long way and I can show you how to do this.  I don't just train you I am not a nutritional advisor I am a certified nutrition coach so if you want the whole package please get in touch.

Training wise I will show you how to train correctly and effectively for your body shape, I will teach you how to lift weights, swing kettlebells, box and so many other ways to get the heart pumping.  To increase your muscle mass and to feel and look your absolute best.

I am 50 in January and I've been doing this job freelance for over ten years and training for over 15. So let me show you how to do it stop the fad diets, stop the mad training and let it fit in with your life!
