So now you know which fats are really bad lets look at 'good' fats.
Saturated fat found in beef, pork & lamb. Dark chicken meat and skin, high fat dairy foods, coconut oil. If choosing to eat meat go for leaner cuts and try to buy grass fed organic or ethically farmed. Keep to a minimum but include in your diet.
Polyunsaturated & Omega 3 & 6, fats are found in walnuts, seeds & fish (omega). Can help to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol.
Monounsaturated fats are found in avocado, nuts, olive oil peanuts & butter. Can also help to lower LDL (bad cholesterol, provides nutrients and to help develop and maintain your bodies cells.
Eat a balance of fats, include all of the other macronutrients and start to really look at cutting out over processed junk. Your food doesn't have to be boring you can still enjoy a steak or a roast dinner, but if you're eating tons of take aways, biscuits, crisps, sugary carbs and a ton of trans fats this is where you are going wrong.
